Khloe Kardashian reveals the promise her grandmother Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon made before her death
Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon had a message to share.
After Kris Jenner’s mother, grandmother of Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner, passed away on July 16 at the age of 91, Khloe revealed the promise the matriarch made to her grandchildren about their late father, Robert Kardashian.
“Know that Heaven welcomes you with open arms and is surrounded by everyone waiting to see you again,” Khloe captioned an Instagram post on July 19. “And I know you kept your promise and told Dad how much we love him and how much we miss him.”
Robert died in 2003, when Chloe was just 19 and the second-to-last of Robert and Chris’ four children.
But in addition to detailing MJ’s promise to deliver a message to Robert, Chloe also reflected on the legacy her grandmother left behind.
“Thank you for teaching us that life is meant to be celebrated, laughter is healing, and love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind,” the Good American co-founder wrote of MJ, who frequently appeared on the family’s reality series. “You lived so fully, so gracefully, so beautifully.”
