Police are investigating the death of Isak Andic.
Mango’s death after falling from a cliff near Barcelona in December 2024 was initially ruled an accident, but Catalan police later announced that the 71-year-old’s death was being investigated as a possible homicide.
More than a year later, Isaac’s eldest son, Jonathan Andic, was arrested on May 19 on suspicion of being involved in his father’s death. The 45-year-old man was photographed entering court in handcuffs after being questioned at a police station in Martorell, Spain, Reuters reported.
A family spokesperson confirmed to the media that Jonathan was being investigated and stressed that the family remains convinced of his innocence. They added that Jonathan “has and will continue to cooperate fully.”
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that the investigation remains sealed.
Isak, who was born in Turkey and moved to Spain as a child, died in December 2024 after falling off a 500-foot cliff while hiking with his family. Jonathan is said to have been the only witness to the fall.
