Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury forced Polish opponent Mausz Wach into retirement in a warm-up fight in preparation for a showdown with fellow Briton Anthony Joshua later this year.
Friday’s match in Thailand was not televised, but will be featured on the Netflix reality show “At Home with the Furies.” Approximately 1,500 fans attended the event at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya.
Wach has lost seven of his past 10 fights, and the 46-year-old was unable to continue at the start of the eighth round.
Fury, who turns 38 in August, has won 36 fights as a professional, with his only losses coming in 2024 to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk.
He retired from competitive boxing in December 2024 after losing to Oleksandr Usyk in a match for three of the four major world titles, but announced his return to boxing in January.
Fury is a two-time world champion. He ended Wladimir Klitschko’s reign with a points victory in 2015, becoming Super WBA, IBF and WBO champion.
He didn’t fight again until 2018, but a thrilling trilogy with American Deontay Wilder saw him win the WBC title with one draw and two wins.
The British star confirmed his return in a post on social media, raising the possibility of a long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.
Joshua, also a former world heavyweight champion, is scheduled to face Christian Prengga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
