Donald Trump will remain in the White House this weekend.
Just days before his son Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding to socialite Bettina Anderson, the 79-year-old explained why he ultimately had to say “no” to his eldest son’s wedding.
In one of the many Truth social posts shared on May 22, President Trump wrote, “I wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump family, my soon-to-be wife, Bettina, but government matters and my love for the United States of America will not allow me to do so.”
“I feel it is important to remain in the White House in Washington, D.C. at this critical time,” Trump concluded, “Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”
With his father’s blessing, Don Jr.’s wedding is scheduled to take place on a small island in the Bahamas over Memorial Day weekend in 2026, multiple media outlets reported. However, the newlyweds did not wait until the ceremony to officially marry. According to a marriage application obtained by People, Don Jr. and Bettina were legally married on May 21, with his model twin sister Christina Anderson McPherson as a witness.
