The New York Times reported that Hochul ultimately agreed to sign the original bill and that lawmakers agreed to implement the changes she requested next year. The bill would require large-scale AI developers to publicly disclose information about their safety protocols and report safety incidents to the state within 72 hours. It will also…

Learn how to speak Na’viPaul Frommer, a former professor at the University of Southern California, created Navi Conran, an invented language intended for human communication. Cameron memorably quoted the language when he won his second Golden Globe for Best Director in 2010, translating what he said as, “I see you, brothers and sisters.” To align with Prime Minister Cameron’s vision, “the Na’vi language had to be completely new,” Frommer told Campfire Writing in 2024. “It had to sound ‘nice’ and it had to be consistent with the 30-odd words he had already come up with, mostly character and animal names.”…
President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order loosening federal regulations on cannabis and paving the way for a Medicare pilot program targeting CBD, capping a year-long coordinated push by the cannabis industry that combined traditional lobbying, big political contributions, data-driven messaging and direct outreach to the president’s inner circle, industry officials told CNBC.Despite longstanding Republican opposition to loosening drug laws (including a wave of legislation from lawmakers seeking to tighten regulations after the executive order), industry advocates claimed victory. They believe the order succeeded in reframing marijuana as a pro-business policy rather than a social issue, ultimately winning…
lucid motors Receives rave reviews from critics. However, the number of customers is overwhelmingly low. That’s a problem that the company can’t deal with. The Arizona-based EV maker has top-notch technology, deep financial backers, and highly regarded vehicles. But it has struggled to meet production targets and has been unable to steal attention from established, century-old luxury brands. Lucid is ramping up production of its high-end three-row SUV, the Gravity, but will only sell a few hundred units through 2025. Gravity’s production ramp-up faces many challenges, primarily supply chain shortages. But the company already has plans for another vehicle aimed…

She found it to be a cheap imitation. Meanwhile, Marcy Lewis, 75, of Madeira, Ohio, wanted a robot vacuum, so she purposefully chose a knockoff. “I’m pretty low-tech, but it made my house cleaner, I worked less, and it seemed like a good idea,” Lewis said. When Brooke Black and her Danish husband first lived together in the United States, she doesn’t recall their different dining habits ever really being a thing. It wasn’t until the 44-year-old mother of two moved to Denmark in 2020 that she became acutely aware that she didn’t use eating utensils like her husband — or pretty much any of the Europeans around her. Growing up in Illinois, Black says her mother only set their family dinner table with forks, unless there was something being served, such as steak, that warranted a knife to cut it. “I have not used a…
