At Amazon’s Fall Hardware event, the company announced that it will bring its upgraded AI, Alexa+, to its Fire TV devices. With Alexa+, Fire TV users have access to expanded features, including the ability to ask more complex AI questions, get more tailored recommendations, and find specific scenes in the film.

For example, Fire TV owners can ask Alexa+ previously for recommendations that go beyond the basic question, such as “What is a good movie for a family movie night?” Well, they can also ask for recommendations similar to the shows they chatted with last weekend, or some of them featuring their favorite actors, among other things.

Additionally, users can ask Alexa+ questions while watching. You know questions about the actor, the soundtrack, or behind the scenes trivia, such as where something was filmed.

During live sporting events, Alexa+ will tell you the scores of your favorite teams, share player statistics, and help you find live events across streaming services such as Prime Video, Sling TV, DirectV, and Fubo. You can also ask for information on highlights and explanations of previous games.

Another feature uses Alexa+ to find the correct scene in a movie or show simply by asking with natural language voice commands. Initially, the feature works with “thousands” titles on Prime Video, bringing you closer to other platforms, Amazon said.

Meanwhile, the Fire TV software interface offers improvements in areas such as channel guides, watchlists, continuous Row, Live TV and Sports Discovery features.

Amazon has also announced a new lineup of Fire TV 2 Series, 4 Series and Omni QLET TVS, including the new streaming stick called Fire TV 2 Series, 4 Series, Omni QLED TVS, and The Fire TV 4K Select. These devices will also receive the Alexa+ upgrade first along with some Panasonic and Hisense TVs.

In 2025 alone, Amazon launched 250 TVs along with various hardware partners, and Fire TV’s vice president Adan Marcuss spoke to the press at Amazon’s live event in New York. And so far, customers have purchased 3.3 billion television devices worldwide.

At the event, Marcus also unveiled the latest flagship TV, the Fire TV Omni QLED series. The new line is said to be 60% brighter than previous models, with a doubled local dimming zone, offering bright whites and crisp blacks. It also includes upgraded processors, Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ adaptive technology.

These TVs start at $479.99 and come in 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch options.

Fire TV’s 2 and 4 series also includes this auto-adjusting brightness feature called “Omnisense” and what’s called Dialogue Boost. Amazon is both 30% faster for the new quad-core processors.

The 2-Series TV starts at $159.99 and comes in 32-inch and 40-inch options, while the 4-Series TV starts at $329.99 and is 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Select ($39.99) is designed to be a more affordable 4K streaming stick with HDR 10+ support, and is powered by Amazon’s new operating system, Vega OS. Get out of the box with all standard streaming services and instantly support Alexa+, Xbox Gaming and Luna.
