Poland’s Andrzezi Barziel became the first climber to ski and ski the world’s best mountains without supplemental oxygen, says his team and the organizers of the expedition.

“I’m at the top of the world’s tallest mountain, and I’m going to ski down it,” Bulziel posted on Instagram early Thursday in a video filmed before his descent.

Everest has seen a handful of ski descents, but there are no continuous descents without additional oxygen.

In 2000, Davorin Karnicar of Slovenia used bottled oxygen to create his first full-ski system, from the Everest summit to the base camp.

Chandawasherpa of Seven Summit Trekking, who held his latest expedition, said Bergiel skied to Camp 2, spent the night and arrived at the ski base camp the next day.

“It was very challenging and no one ever did it,” Sherpa told AFP news agency.

Heavy snow was forced to spend more than 16 hours (26,250 feet) of 8,000 meters (26,250 feet), known as the “death zone,” over 16 hours (26,250 feet), as thin air and hypoxia levels increase the risk of severe disease.

When he arrived at the base camp he was greeted by Kada, a traditional Buddhist scarf.

“Is Sky at its limit? Not for Paul! Andrzezi Balziel skied down Mount Everest,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tass wrote on X.

In a statement, Bargiel’s team said he made history, calling it “a groundbreaking milestone in the world of ski climbing.”

A year after becoming the first person to ski down Pakistan’s K2 in 2018, Balziel began to look at Everest.

However, the dangerous overhanging Serak was forced to abandon his 2019 attempt. He returned in 2022, but the strong winds hampered his plans.

The Daredevil adventurer continues his quest to create the world’s highest mountain skiing descent under his HIC Sunt Leones project.

In Pakistan, he lowered all four of the mountains of Karakolam, which are over 8,000 meters, and also skied from Manasul and Shishapanma in Nepal, Tibetan.

Fall expeditions in Everest are rare due to snowy days and cold days and narrow windows on top compared to busy springs.
