Christian Horner officially left Red Bull after plundering as Team Principal in July, the Formula One Racing Team said in a statement.

Horner, who led Red Bull to eight driver titles and six constructor crowns, reportedly agreed to a big reward with the team and announced his departure on Monday.

The 51-year-old contract, which was scheduled to run until 2030, is now in place, and he will be free to return to sports soon next year.

British media reports have suggested that Horner will receive up to $107 million in payoffs.

“Oracle Red Bull Racing announces today that Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner will leave the team today,” a statement from Red Bull Racing said.

Horner said it was “honor and privilege” to lead a team.

“When we first started in 2005, none of us could imagine a journey that would come, including the championship, the race, the people, the memories,” he said.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a team, breaking records and reaching incredible heights, I’ll carry it forever.”

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments, thanked Horner for his “exceptional work.”

“His tireless commitment, experience, expertise and innovative thinking helped him establish Red Bull Race as one of the most successful and engaging teams in Formula 1,” he said.

“Thank you to everything, Christian. You will remain an important part of our team’s history.”

Horner was released from “operational” on July 9th, 17 months after being accused by a female colleague of “inappropriate behavior.”

He was exempt from two claims by Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of the Formula One team.

However, there were rumours of dissatisfaction within the team, and some prominent departures were made, and the track form was soaked.

Dutchman Max Verstappen has won the past four driver titles for Red Bull, coinciding with the achievements of Sebastian Vettel, who dominated the team from 2010 to 2013.

Verstappen, who won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday, is third in the rankings this season.
