Howie Mandel is sharing his grandson’s diagnosis for the first time.
The American Gott Talent Judge and his daughter Jackalin Schultz shared that they personally navigated the cancer diagnosis of their 9-year-old son Axel.
“Coping, it really got specific,” Howie said with her daughter when she appeared on the September 17 episode of depth with Graham Bensinger. “His problem is autoimmune. It’s leukemia. In fact, this is the first time I’ve talked about it on camera.”
While keeping Axel diagnosis private, Howie, 69, shared that he and Jackielin are his co-hosts of the Howie Mandel podcast.
“We’ve been doing podcasts, but sometimes someone comes in to do podcasts and they’re getting a cold,” Howie shared. “And she would have been wearing a mask.”
As Jacklin explained, “And I got that hatred and Vitriol, and they thought I wouldn’t agree with their politics, etc. And in my mind, I said, “They don’t know what I’m going through now.”
