Emmys2025: Why Seth Rogen shares: “Studio” cast didn’t thank Sal Saperstein
Seth Rogen puts his jokes on the page.
After the studio won a total of 13 awards at the 2025 Emmy Awards, the show’s co-creators jokingly told Sal Sattain (the character played by Ike Barinholtz) why no one in the cast jokingly thanked him for nodding to the “Golden Globes” episode of the Apple TV+ series.
“That’s our own joke,” Seth told the press following the September 14th awards show at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, as seen on social media. “It feels strange to refer to your own joke.”
In fact, the episode in question features a ravaged studio executive Matt Remic (played by Seth) after his fellow executives were repeatedly thanked by the star for their acceptance speech. Even Zoe Kravitz, who played herself in the episode, thanked the monkeys.
“I wanted Jack Thorne to do that,” the 43-year-old said the adolescent co-creator “but no.”
He didn’t mention the monkey in his four acceptance speeches, but Seth admitted that after winning the comedy series, he was beginning to feel awkward by the time he went on stage to accept his third trophy after winning the comedy series, best writing, best directing the comedy series.
