MONTICELRO, Utah (AP) — The tornado destroyed several homes in southeastern Utah over the weekend, but authorities said there were no reports of injuries.

Two tornadoes were produced in San Juan County, southeastern Utah, from around an hour on Saturday, from around 12:35pm, according to meteorologist Chris Sanders.

The tornado route that landed near Montezmá Creek is likely to cover less than 10 miles (16 kilometers), but weather services have not yet determined the exact track or wind speed, Sanders said by phone. The investigation could take place on Monday, he said Sunday.

Navajo President Boo Niglen said in a social media post that three homes in the area had been demolished amid the storm. The 27,000 square miles (70,000 square kilometers) bookings spanning Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, are the largest of Native American tribes.

No injuries were reported, but an unknown number of livestock and pets were reported missing, the Navajo Police Department said in a social media post. Images posted by the department showed towering pillars of a tornado surrounded by dark clouds and a flat house surrounded by debris.

Sanders said the tornado was quite unusual in that part of Utah, with the Weather Service only confirmed two people since 1950.
