Ozzy Osbourne’s loved ones are helping with his latest compliment.
The late Prince of Darkness, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, was recognized on September 7 at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, with performances by AeroSmith members Stephen Tyler and Joe Perry, Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt.
Ahead of the biggest hit medley at UBS Arena in New York City, Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne and granddaughter Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, Minnie, 7, Maple and 3 took part by filming an emotional intro video.
“I wish we could be there with you tonight when you celebrate my father’s wonderful musical journeyJack said, sitting with his daughter.It is certainly going to make him extremely happy to help these great musicians carry on his legacy and inspire the next generation of rockers. ”
In addition to thanking the performers for the tribute, he added.Dad, I love you. ”
To close the video, Ozzy’s granddaughter said, “Let’s get hooked in our daddy’s words!”
Along with Ozzy’s star-studded sendoff, the ceremony featured performances by Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat and Post Malone. Mariah Carey also delivered her biggest hit medley before receiving the Video Vanguard Award, but fellow performers Ricky Martin and Busta Rhymes were awarded the Latin Icon Award and the Rock the Bells Vishery Award, respectively.
