Washington (AP) – President Donald Trump On Saturday, he amplified his promise to send the National Guard. Military and immigration agents It’s in Chicago by posting a parody image of “Apocalypse Now” and a parody image of “Apocalypse Now,” which zooms in to the second largest city in the country.

“I love the smell of morning deportation,” Trump wrote on his social media site. “Chicago is trying to find out why it’s called the Department of War.”

The president did not provide details other than the label “Chipocalypse Now” in the title of Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 film.

In response to the post, JB Pretzker, a Democrat in the Illinois government, called Trump a “aspiring dictator.”

Trump signed an executive order on Friday attempting to rename the Department of Defense War Bureau after a months-long campaign for the Nobel Peace Prize. Renames require approval from the council.

Illustrations in Trump’s post show him opposed to the background of the Chicago skyline, loving the war in the film played by Robert Duval, and wearing a hat that fits the hat of Lieutenant Colonel Amoral Kilgore.

Trump’s weekend post follows his repeated threat of adding Chicago to the list of other democratically driven cities aimed at expanding federal enforcement. His administration plans to step up immigration enforcement in Chicago. Los Angelesand Deploying National Guard Forces.

In addition to sending troops to Los Angeles In June, Trump unfolded in Washington last month as part of his unprecedented thing Law enforcement acquisition of the country’s capital.

He proposed it Baltimore and New Orleans They could be treated the same, and on Friday even mentioned that federal authorities who could head to Portland, Oregon, referred to the protesters as “wiping the em.” He may have misinterpreted the video from a demonstration in the city many years ago.

Although details of Trump’s promised Chicago business are sparse, The already widespread opposition. City and state leaders say they intend to sue the Trump administration. Pretzker, the 2028 presidential candidate, is also opposed to this.

The president “threatens to go to war with American cities,” Pretzker wrote in X about his image of Trump’s post. “This is no joke. This is not normal.”

He added: “Donald Trump is not a strongman, he’s a scary man. Illinois is not threatened by an aspiring dictator.”

Trump suggests he has almost infinite power when it comes to deploying the National Guard. Sometimes he even touches on questions about him being a dictator.

“Most people say, ‘If you call him a dictator, if he stops the crime, he can become what he wants.’ I’m not a dictator, by the way,” Trump said last month. He added, “I don’t have – I’ll do – not the right to do anything I want to do.”

“I’m the president of the United States,” Trump said. “If you think our country is at risk, and if it’s at risk in these cities, I can do it.”
