For Swift, the issue was bigger than the lyrics, enveloping the West and her history.
Since VMAS in 2009, she spoke to Rolling Stone in 2019, hoping for West’s respect. And when they reconnected, she went on to feel that she “healed the rejection or something of a child since I was 19.”
But after Swift awarded the West, an old wound opened up at the 2015 VMAS, saying, “Do you know how many times they announced they would be awarding the award because Taylor has received more reviews?”
“I realized he was very dual,” she added. “He wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, and then he looks cool and wants to stand up in front of everyone and talk.
And she thought they had – she had heard that she was “famous.”
“So when he called me, I was so moved that he gave me my respect and taught me about this one line of songs,” she told the magazine. “And I said, ‘OK, fine. We’ve returned to good conditions.’ And when I heard the song, I ended this if you want to say bad words, but it’s just true about it. ”
