Openai has announced that it will develop an AI-centric Jobs platform as part of a broader effort to expand AI literacy. Also as the company expands its AI applications for consumers and businesses.

ChatGpt Maker’s Openai Jobs Platform helps to connect qualified job seekers with businesses using AI and could compete with Microsoft’s LinkedIn.

Openai and Microsoft It has an unsettling partnership in which Microsoft officially labels AI startups as a search and news ad competitor in last year’s annual submission. Microsoft is Openai’s biggest investor, reportedly pouring $13 billion into the company.

The news was announced in a blog post Thursday by Fidji Simo, the application’s chief executive and former director of Instacart.

“The important thing is that the Jobs platform is not a way for large companies to attract more talent. There is a track to help local businesses compete, and local governments find the AI talent they need to provide better service to their members,” Simo said.

She did not further elaborate on the platform, but a company spokesperson told TechCrunch that she hopes to launch the service by mid-2026.

Additionally, Openai will introduce a new certification program in conjunction with Openai Academy, an online learning platform that teaches workers how to use AI better. This could also compete with LinkedIn’s learning platform. It also offers video courses in the business, technology and creative fields, with accreditation.

“We plan to expand our academy by offering a wide range of levels of AI-style ency certification, from (W) AI in the workplace to AI custom jobs and rapid engineering,” Simo said, adding that the program will utilize ChatGpt’s learning mode. This research feature transforms chatbots into teachers who provide questions, tips and feedback instead of giving direct answers.

AI eliminates work and climbs corporate ladders

Organizations can make certificates part of their own learning and development programs, and Openai is already collaborating Walmartthe largest private employer in the US in Openai, said it plans to prove 10 million Americans by 2030.

The plan comes amid fears about how AI is affecting the labor market. Business leaders like Salesforce’s Marc Benioff recently announced AI layoffs, but new research has linked technology to mass unemployment among certain workers.

Shimo acknowledged the “destructive” power of AI in her post, saying that she needs to adapt to her job and company look different.

“(w) What we can do is help more people become proficient in AI, connect with companies that need skills, and provide more economic opportunities.

A recent study from labor market data firm LightCast found that roles that require AI skills pay on average higher salaries than those that don’t.

It was also said that the new initiative would come as part of OpenRi’s “commitment to the White House’s efforts to expand AI literacy.”

The company strengthened its ties with Washington and launched a new recruitment for the government called Openai on June 16th. This was awarded a contract of up to $200 million by the US Department of Defense. Openai is also part of a $500 billion Stargate project aimed at investing in US AI infrastructure over the next four years.

Openai CEO Sam Altman is part of a group of technology leaders who met with US President Donald Trump on Thursday and discussed topics including the development of artificial intelligence.

Before dinner, First Lady Melania Trump gave a speech highlighting the importance of AI in education and American progress, saying, “We must take responsibility for managing the growth of AI.”
