Stocks with the biggest price movements at midday: AAL, COHR, SLB, TSLA

Here are some companies that are making headlines in intraday trading. Data Center Infrastructure — Investors exited stocks of companies involved in the data center infrastructure industry as concerns over hyperscalers’ spending on artificial intelligence continued. Specialty glass and fibers company Corning’s stock fell 3%, and photonics companies Coherent and Lumentum each fell about 7%. Shares of GE Vernova, Eaton, and Defiance AI & Power Infrastructure ETF (AIPO) all fell more than 1%. Tesla — Shares of Elon Musk’s electric car company fell for a third straight day, dropping more than 3% on Friday. Tesla stock is expected to fall nearly 19% this week. Shares plunged about 15% on Thursday after the company signaled it would increase spending on artificial intelligence. Booz Allen Hamilton — Shares soared 12% after the defense contractor reported better-than-expected fiscal first-quarter profits. Adjusted earnings were $1.81 per share, compared to the FactSet consensus of $1.48 per share. The consultant also reaffirmed its outlook for the fiscal year. Digital Realty Trust — Shares rose 15% after the data center-focused real estate owner reported strong second-quarter earnings and sales growth. The REIT also raised its full-year profit forecast. CEO Andy Power said the results reflected “solid customer demand and strong execution across our core pillars of growth.” Travel stocks — The group rose as oil prices fell on reports that Pakistan, with support from China, is pushing for a renegotiation between the United States and Iran. Shares of cruise lines Carnival and Norwegian both rose more than 5%. Shares of American Airlines and United Airlines rose 6.9% and 4.3%, respectively. CH Robinson Worldwide — The shipping company’s stock fell 8%. A jury in Dallas County, Texas, has returned a recommended verdict against C.H. Robinson and two other defendants in connection with a trucking accident involving an independent motor carrier, according to regulatory filings. The judgment awarded damages of $604 million. CH Robinson disagreed with the verdict and said he planned to appeal. Software companies — Traders bought up shares of software companies, pushing the iShares Expanded Technology Software Sector ETF (IGV) up 1%. Adobe and ServiceNow stock rose more than 5%, and Workday stock rose more than 4%. Salesforce stock rose nearly 4%. Intel — The chipmaker’s stock erased previous gains and fell 4%. Intel just reported its fastest quarterly revenue growth in nearly 15 years. The company’s second quarter sales were $16.1 billion, an increase of 25% from the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share of 42 cents also beat analyst expectations. Robert Half — Shares fell about 6% after the staffing and executive search firm reported underwhelming second-quarter results. Robert Half earned 26 cents a share, in line with FactSet expectations. Revenue was $1.34 billion, slightly above consensus of $1.32 billion. MaxLinear — Shares fell 20% even though the company reported better-than-expected second-quarter earnings and provided better-than-expected guidance for the quarter. Shares rose more than 400% in 2026 ahead of the company’s earnings report. Boston Beer – Shares of the maker of Twisted Tea rose 2%. Second-quarter revenue of $568.3 million narrowly beat the FactSet consensus call of $566.7 million. Boston Beer also reaffirmed its full-year earnings outlook to $8.50 to $10.50 per share, compared to the consensus estimate of $9.38. Tenet Healthcare — Shares rose more than 16% after the healthcare services company reported second-quarter adjusted earnings of $6.12 per share. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected earnings of $4.26 per share. Sales exceeded expectations, and the full-year outlook also exceeded expectations. American Express — Shares fell 5% after the credit card issuer reported a drop in revenue in the second quarter. American Express had revenue of $19.64 billion, compared to analysts surveyed by LSEG who expected revenue of $19.71 billion. However, profit for the quarter exceeded expectations. SAP — Shares rose 8% after the German software company reported that its cloud order backlog rose 27% year-on-year to €22.9 billion (US$26.03 billion) in the second quarter. Sales also came in at €9.88 billion (US$11.23 billion), slightly above LSEG’s forecast of €9.86 billion (US$11.21 billion). SLB — Shares rose 10% after the energy services company reported higher earnings and revenue in the second quarter. SLB said the quarter saw a return to year-over-year revenue growth as customers focused more on energy security and capacity expansion. Charter Communications — Shares fell about 3% after lower-than-expected second-quarter adjusted EBITDA. Free cash flow was also lower than expected, but the company reaffirmed its capital expenditure outlook through fiscal 2029. Verizon Communications — The telecommunications company’s stock rose 3% after a mixed earnings report. Verizon reported higher-than-expected full-year guidance, but second-quarter profits were higher but sales were lower. —CNBC’s Fred Imbert, Nick Wells and Darla Mercado contributed reporting.
