No matter how far Matt Damon’s journey takes him from home, his heart is with his wife, Luciana Barroso Damon, and their four daughters.
Luckily, The Odyssey was set to be a summer blockbuster, so the actor, who plays the eponymous hero in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster, which opens in theaters July 17, was able to bring his entire family to the film’s London premiere.
“It’s great because they had to sacrifice a lot for this,” Damon told People at a July 7 event. “I was away for a while and they came to visit and it was tough. It’s a very long movie and a very grueling shoot. I’m really looking forward to letting my daughters see it tonight.”
But what was even better was that one of his daughters (Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15, he declined to say) told him she was proud of him after watching the 172-minute movie. (Maybe you’re the same person who said there was “nothing great” about the 2017 alien action movie The Great Wall.)
“She’s never said anything like that because we joke a lot, so at that point I was like, ‘Okay. It was all for nothing,'” Damon said.
That’s the life of a devoted girl’s dad, right?
