Robbers tried to break into the Barcelona home of Spanish soccer player Lamine Yamal on Wednesday, moments after helping La Roja reach their second World Cup final, police and media said.
A Catalan regional police spokesperson told AFP news agency there was an “attempted robbery” at a house in the Barcelona suburb of Esprug de Llobregat.

The force declined to identify the owner of the property for privacy reasons, but Barcelona-based daily La Vanguardia reported that the house belonged to the 19-year-old Spain forward.
According to La Vanguardia newspaper, two people wearing balaclavas climbed onto the wall of the house, but the private security guard was startled and fled.
According to the newspaper, Yamal’s house is best known as the home once owned by Barcelona soccer great Gerard Pique and his former partner, Colombian music star Shakira, when they lived together in the Catalan capital.
Wednesday’s incident occurred in the early morning hours after Spain clinched a place in the World Cup finals with a 2-0 victory over France in Texas.
Yamal won a penalty in the first half, which Mikel Oyarzabal converted to give them the lead. The forward was also instrumental in Barça’s defense of La Liga, winning the Spanish domestic league title last season.
In Madrid, soccer stars such as Karim Benzema, Rodrygo and Dani Carvajal have been victims of home invasions in recent years.
Spain will face Argentina or England in Sunday’s finale of the 2026 edition of FIFA’s global marquee event.
