What is the correct way to apply sunscreen?
Technically speaking, we all need to apply SPF from head (yes, we mean scalp) to toes.
“Layering sunscreen products is a great way to ensure you get the protection you need. Using a stick sunscreen as your first layer provides the foundation you need for proper UV protection,” says Dr. Zeichner.
Applying SPF-containing makeup, such as a primer or skin tint, over your sunscreen can also add an extra layer of protection that won’t interfere with your daily routine.
When it comes to body application, a foolproof hack is to apply an SPF cream first and then spray on to make sure you don’t miss any blemishes.
How do I apply sunscreen over makeup?
Ideally, you should reapply sunscreen every two hours, so you’ll likely need to apply more SPF on top of your makeup.
Dr. Zeichner said what we all thought: “I think it’s a pain to apply sunscreen after applying makeup.”
What is the solution? ”Setting spray with SPF is a great option. Alternatively, a sunscreen spray or mist can essentially be airbrushed onto your skin without interrupting the work you put into your makeup. ” Just be careful not to spray it in your eyes or mouth.
