University of Kentucky cheerleader Rayken Snelling has been accused of hiding a dead baby in his closet

University of Kentucky cheerleaders are facing legal trouble.

Laken Ashlee Snelling was arrested on August 27, according to a release from local Lexington police in connection with a dead toddler hidden in a closet.

“On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at about 10:30am, officers were dispatched for an unresponsive toddler at a residence in the 400 block of Park Avenue,” the statement read. “When officers arrived, they found a toddler who was declared dead at the scene.”

According to NBC News, 21-year-old Snelling is accused of being wrapped in a towel and in a garbage bag inside her closet, and in a garbage bag inside her closet.

A college senior was charged with corpse abuse, tampering with physical evidence, hiding the birth of a toddler from each police officer, and was booked at Fayette County Detention Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

A statement from police said the special victims section of the department will continue its investigation and “The Fayette County Coroner’s office will release the cause of death of the infant.”
