Beyoncé is sounding the alarm on new music.
BeyHive flocked to the Grammy Award winner when she released her new single “Morning Dew (Donk)” on July 4th, marking her first music drop in two years.
The soulful song, written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream and Darius Dixon, begins a 60-day countdown to the “Love on Top” hitmaker’s 45th birthday on September 4 and the reissue of her 2006 album B’DAY, Parkwood Entertainment said in a statement.
The single is a “direct tribute to her loyal BeyHive in commemoration of the upcoming epic B’DAY celebration,” the statement reads. “The song will appear on the 20th anniversary edition of B’DAY and will be accompanied by a lyric video that repurposes old footage and was directed by frequent collaborator Cliff Watts.”
B’DAY made its world debut on September 4, 2006, and was released in the United States one day later. Within a week, the album sold 541,196 copies.
‘Morning Dew (Donk)’ has been confirmed to be a celebration of one of Beyoncé’s most iconic eras, but her fans are waiting to see when her long-awaited third act album will be released.
