Your script will never be delayed. Everyone else is just fast.
The Princess Diaries author Meg Cabot has confirmed that she has read and agreed to the script for her new film, The Princess Diaries 3.
“I read the script and it was great,” she said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on June 26. “I liked it so much that I told them not to send it again.”
“They don’t like to tell people what’s going to happen,” Cabot added. “So I thought, ‘I better not send the script anymore!'”
The novelist also joked that “I’m not good at keeping my mouth shut.”
Cabot’s seal of approval came after Anne Hathaway, who stars in the series as Mia Thermopolis, said in an April interview with Entertainment Weekly that the film’s production team was “100 percent, we’re always working on a sequel.”
She also admitted at the time that the third Princess Diaries movie was ultimately put on the backburner in 2025 when The Devil Wears Prada 2 “came in unexpectedly and took over that space.”
“It’s become impossible to focus on both at the same time,” she continued, adding, “I’d like to make The Princess Diaries next, if possible.”
