Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo will join the Miami Heat from the Milwaukee Bucks, multiple US media outlets, including ESPN, reported on Monday.
Miami won a battle with the Boston Celtics to sign the 31-year-old Greek, a 10-time All-Star who won a championship with the Bucks in 2021.

ESPN reported that Miami will acquire Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis in a deal that also releases Tyler Herro, Keluel Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jaxionis.
According to ESPN, Milwaukee will also receive three first-round picks, one pick swap and one second-round pick.

Antetokounmpo’s departure ends more than a year of uncertainty over whether he will finish his career with Milwaukee, the only team he has played for since being drafted in 2013.
The Greek star had openly expressed his frustration with team management who did not allow him to play despite suffering from hyperextension of his left knee.
Antetokounmpo insisted he was fit and ready to help the Bucks force a playoff berth despite being declared unavailable by the Bucks’ front office.
In April, after Milwaukee missed the playoffs at the end of a 32-50 season, Antetokounmpo also vented about the team’s inability to build a team capable of competing for a championship.
“Sometimes I feel like people aren’t listening,” Antetokounmpo said. “They listen to their sources. The main source is me. It is what it is.”
