Ryan Lochte gets applause for being ‘unrecognizable’ and ‘clown’ after changing hairstyle
Ryan Lochte is swimming into a new chapter in his life.
The Olympian confirmed to TMZ on June 19 that he was engaged to girlfriend Molly Gillihan after a year of dating.
“I’m on a cloud, she said yes,” Lochte told the outlet. “I’m glad this is a new beginning for me. I couldn’t have done this without her.”
Lochte and Gillihan got engaged at the same restaurant they had their first date in in Gainesville, Florida. They recently moved to Missouri, where the Olympic swimmer will work as an assistant coach for the Missouri State University swim team.
News of their engagement comes less than a year after the pair went public with their romance in July 2025. At the time, Lochte posted several photos of the two on Instagram to sum up their Fourth of July weekend in Florida.
The gold medalist and Gillihan took the next step in their relationship in January, moving in with Lochte’s children Kaiden,8, Liv6, and georgiatwo — he shares with ex-wife Kayla Reed — and Gillihan’s three children from previous relationships.
