Tessa Bailey is excited for it to really become a reality this summer.
As the author of What Happened One Summer, whose book is now being made into a movie starring Nina Dobrev and Tyler Hoechlin, says her epic love story centering on Piper Bellinger and Brendan Taggart will come to fruition sooner than you think.
“We start filming on July 13th,” Bailey told E! News in an exclusive interview at Amazon Books’ Literary Lounge event celebrating Amazon’s best books of the year so far. “And that’s what’s happening. I’m like, ‘This is your shooting date, come on set,’ and it seems unrealistic. And I’m like, ‘Really?'”
In fact, watching Piper, a Los Angeles influencer exiled to the Pacific Northwest, where she crosses paths with no-nonsense Captain Brendan and fall in love with him in Westport, Washington, will definitely be the highlight of her season.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what they bring to the characters,” Bailey explained. “I think they’re both very talented actors, and they’re both really funny people. So I’m really looking forward to seeing what twists they’ll put on Piper and Brendan. I think they’ll definitely do that.”
