Alex Roldan converted from a penalty spot in the second half, assisting the first half as the Seattle Sounders defeated Lionel Mesane-led Inter Miami 3-0 for Seattle Sounders to win the 2025 League Cup final.

Sunday’s match was eroded by a final whistle brawl involving multiple players from both teams. Miami striker Luis Suarez appeared to be one of the players in the middle, and the video camera appeared to be spitting out to members of Seattle’s staff after the game when the brawl died.

The League Cup will have a disciplinary committee independent from both the league or the continental federation, as Major League Soccer (MLS) and Riga MX will be held jointly with CONCACAF sanctions. Perhaps it is the responsibility to decide the discipline of the case, but MLS could also be involved.

Roldan set the fourth goal for Ozaze de Rosario in the Seattle opener tournament.

It is the Sounders’ first since beating Mexico’s Pumas UNAM on two legs to win the 2022 Concacaf Champions League.

Paul Rothrock took third in the final moments of his victory, guaranteeing Seattle a first round by in the 16th round of the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Miami has failed to secure a Second League Cup title after winning the 2023 event since Messi arrived in the summer of the 2023 season.

The Herons are guaranteed to be a spot for Konka-Cuff next year, but will start in the first round unless they win the 2025 MLS Cup.

Seattle dominated the first half and deserved to be in the 26th minute.

Jesus Ferreira played with the first ball spread out on Roldan on the right, and Roldan curled in an outswing cross to the far post that Rosario met with a decisive header.

Miami wasted two great opportunities to level up early in the second half, and Suarez offered a link up play.

In the 50th minute, at Messi, we arrived just above the six-yard box and arrived at Suarez’s spinback pass, but the Argentine star fired goalkeeper Andrew Tomos.

Then, in the 60 minutes, Tadeo Allende was at the end of Suarez’s clever back heels, but he sent out the right post strike wide as Thomas charged out of the line.

It was expensive when sounder substitute George Minongo was freed to the left side of the field in the 82nd minute. With Yannick Bright Tracking back back fond, Minougou attempted to cut back and got caught up in Bright’s slide challenge.

Roldan calmly converted his penalty past Oscar Ustali in the 84th minute, turning the tension into the joy of most of the crowds in Lumen Field’s 69,314 large crowds (League Cup and Club Single Game attendance record).
