Every rose has its thorns, including Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ wedding.
The Hope and Faith alum revealed at the 1996 Las Vegas ceremony that she and Consuelos, with whom she shares children Michael, 28, Laura, 24, and Joaquin, 23, wished she had done something different for the less expensive ceremony.
“I still regret not coming in spring for flowers, because my hands look clumsy,” Ripa jokingly poked her husband on the June 12 episode of Living with Kelly and Mark, before adding, “Flowers are superfluous. Some people don’t want spring for flowers.”
“The only photo I’ll never show is one where I’m awkwardly posing with my hands because there’s no flowers,” Ripa continued. “That’s a very ugly photo.”
Despite one “weird photo”, the 55-year-old praised the venue, Chapel of the Bells, which famously included the photo in its wedding package.
And that’s not the only benefit the All My Children alums (who met on set in 1996 when Consuelos auditioned to play Ripa’s on-screen love interest) cherish their elopement. When giving advice to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce about their anticipated nuptials, the daytime co-host highlighted that their big day will cost just $179.
