Kylie Jenner and Taylor Swift have taken the first step towards becoming friends, and fans are curious to know how this relationship will end.
The two sat courtside together during the New York Knicks vs. San Antonio Spurs game on June 10, giving them a front-row seat to the biggest come-from-behind victory in NBA Finals history thanks to OG Anunoby’s key tip-in.
In fact, the energy at Madison Square Garden after the game was so exciting that Jenner and Swift exchanged a friendly hello and hug on the court, as seen in a clip shared to social media, overcoming the awkward history between them.
As for why this hug is so important, any fan of Swiftie or the Kardashian family will quickly recount the 2016 drama between Jenner’s Grammy-winning sister Kim Kardashian and her then-husband Kanye “Ye” West.
At the time, Kardashian released a clip of a phone call in which she appeared to give West (whose rocky relationship with Swift began after Swift interrupted her at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards) a call in which she appeared to allow Swift to include the line, “I feel like me and Taylor are still having sex/Why? I made that famous” in her song “Famous.”
