Jalen Brunson’s New York Knicks won Game 1 of the NBA Finals on the road against the San Antonio Spurs.

Jalen Brunson scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter and the New York Knicks overcame a 14-point third-quarter deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals in Texas on Wednesday.
Karl-Anthony Towns had 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Knicks won their 12th straight playoff game, the second longest postseason winning streak in league history.

New York finished the game with 11 consecutive points while playing their first NBA Finals game since 1999.
OG Anunoby scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for the Knicks, who had no turnovers in the final period. San Antonio gave up the ball five times in the final 12 minutes but shot 28.6 percent (6 of 21) and lost 29-19.
Spurs star Victor Wembaneyama had 26 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots, but was just 6-of-21 from the field. Stephon Castle had 17 points and eight rebounds, Julian Champagnie had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Dylan Harper had 16 points off the bench.
Game 2 of the best-of-seven series will be played Friday night in San Antonio.

Knicks rally in 4th place
For the Knicks, Landry Shamet had 13 points off the bench and Josh Hart had 15 rebounds, six assists, four steals and three points.
New York shot 41.5 percent from the field, including 11-of-36 (30.6 percent) from three-point range.
The Spurs made 36 percent of their field goal attempts and 11 of 43 (25.6 percent) from behind the basket.
Brunson scored eight straight points, including a driving hoop, with 6:08 remaining to give the Knicks a 94-86 lead. With the Spurs up 95-94 with 2 minutes and 16 seconds left, Wembaneyama responded with eight points during a 9-0 run.
San Antonio didn’t allow a score again, and Brunson sank a corner tree with 1:50 remaining to give the Knicks the lead back.
Mikal Bridges made two free throws, Brunson hit a jumper and Anunoby sank four consecutive free throws to seal the win.
San Antonio led by seven points at halftime and scored 10 of the first 13 points in the third quarter, taking a 65-51 lead on Harper’s basket.
The Knicks fought back with a 20-6 burst, tying the score at 71 on Brunson’s jumper with 2:01 left in the third.
Knicks backup center Mitchell Robinson (fractured right little finger) played 13 minutes, scoring two points and grabbing six rebounds.
Champagnie scored 15 points on five 3-pointers as the Spurs led 55-48 at the half. Brunson scored 11 points in the first half for the Knicks despite injuring his right knee in the first quarter and left ankle in the second.
