What goes into a signature facial to prep your skin for the Met Gala?
A big event like the Met Gala requires a lot of facials. It all comes down to intention, strategy, and precise timing. Yarosh begins by reading the skin and its needs: hydration, inflammation, tension, and lymphatic levels. The special facial she performs on her Met Gala celebrity clients is called the Lift, Sculpt, and Slap. She uses a combination of deep sculpting massage, lymphatic drainage, and buccal techniques to relax your jaw, lift your cheekbones, and contour your skin.
“For an event like the Met Gala, skin preparation has to be very precise. It has to look bright under HD cameras, sculpted with flash photography, and has completely natural movement. My approach is always fully customized, but the philosophy is the same: sculpt the structure, perfect the surface, and create a sparkling, camera-ready finish,” she told E!
Outside of these massage techniques, Yarosh uses a combination of custom products to suit a client’s specific skin needs. She uses lightweight, deeply hydrating, and texture-formulated products to maintain glowing, plump, and “glass-like” skin.
Is there another important aspect? timing. “I usually treat the day before or the morning of the event, depending on your skin and schedule. In some cases, I start preparing far in advance to keep your skin in its best condition.”
