Patton Oswalt’s wife responds to criticism of tribute to late wife Michelle McNamara
Patton Oswalt’s wife, Meredith Salenger, fully supports honoring the memory of loved ones who have passed away.
After the comedian paid a heartfelt tribute to his late wife Michelle McNamara, Meredith hit back at critics who suggested he took issue with Patton’s message.
Patton celebrated 10 years since Michelle’s death on Instagram on April 21, sharing a nostalgic photo of him smiling with his late partner. “10 years have passed,” he captioned the sweet photo. “I miss you, baby.”
Meredith, who has been married to Patton since 2017, chimed in, praising Michelle in the comments section of her husband’s post, calling her “smart,” “cool,” “brave,” and “beautiful.” She described Michelle as “wise enough to love you and wonderful enough to be worshiped by you.”
Michelle also said of Patton’s 17-year-old Alice, whom he adopted during her marriage to the late writer, that she “created the greatest child on the planet.”
“I wish I had known her,” Meredith concluded. “I’m so sorry for the hurt you and Alice will continue to have. I love you both so much. Please hug me forever.”
