Kevin McKidd is busy with appointments after checking out of Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital.
The Grey’s Anatomy star, who announced last month that he was leaving ABC’s long-running medical drama after nearly 20 years, has been cast as the lead in ITV’s British drama series Only Suspect, multiple broadcasters announced on April 22.
According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, the thriller tells the story of Alex (McKidd), a London man who secretly buries a dead body 30 years ago, long before he and his partner Beth had built a picture-perfect suburban life. But new developments threaten to reveal Alex’s dark past.
The show’s synopsis reads: “Behind the street where Alex and Beth live, an abandoned railroad track with hidden bodies has been transformed into a nature trail.” “What is a victory for the neighborhood is actually a disaster for Alex…because Alex is the young man who buried the body.”
The description continues: “After decades of living under a false name, Alex faces the dismantling of everything he’s built. His carefully constructed life spirals as miners prepare to break ground on the very site where his secret lies. And he must decide how far he’s willing to go to bury the truth.”
