Mike Vrabel is hoping he can finally push this drama into the end zone.

The New England Patriots head coach shared insight into how he has been dealing with the fallout, including a cozy photo of himself and Athletic reporter Deanna Russini, as well as dealing with situations with people in his personal and professional lives.

“I’ve had difficult conversations with people I care about,” Vrabel said at a press conference on April 21. “My family, organization, coaches and players have been positive and productive. I believe that success on and off the field requires making the right decisions, and that includes me. It starts with me.”

The 50-year-old expressed regret that the situation may have had a negative impact on the team and that he may have been “a distraction and caused comments and questions to be asked”. However, he said the details of his conversations would be kept private.

“I care deeply about this football team and am excited to coach them,” he continued. “I also know that I’m going to attack each day with humility and focus.”

And before he retired, Vrabel shared a renewed commitment to his team, his loved ones and the greater Patriots community.
