The dawn of a new era in the light heavyweight division began in the main event of UFC 327 in Miami, where Carlos Wolberg won the vacant Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title by defeating former champion Jiri Prochaska.
On Saturday, with U.S. President Donald Trump sitting cageside, Ullberg landed a perfect left hook to Prochaska’s jaw and won by knockout at 3:45 of the first round to win the undisputed belt.

Ulberg (14-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) defeated Prochaska (32-6-1 MMA, 6-3 UFC), who nearly lost the fight with a knee injury, and caught Prochaska with left hooks and blows to take the title.
“I bruised my knee, but it never put me out,” Ulberg said. “I knew all I needed was that one shot, and I ended up getting it. So I knew Gili was hesitant to come forward, and as soon as I landed my left hand, he went out.”
“The important thing is to capture the moment.”

Wolberg is on a 10-fight winning streak, while Prochaska falls to 1-3 in his first UFC title fight since June 2022. Two of those losses were to Alex Pereira (13-3).
Ullberg (15-1-0) appeared to have tweaked something early in the first round when he stepped up and his right knee buckled awkwardly. Prochaska (32-6-1) immediately began working on Ulberg’s left leg, repeatedly landing kicks in hopes of taking both legs instead of aggressively attacking to finish him off.
“I felt sorry for him. This is one of the biggest lessons of my life,” Prochaska said. “That fight was won, I earned it, it was in my hands. I saw his injury, and…I’ll be back. That’s what life is. Learn and get better.”
The matchup comes after former champion Alex Pereira stepped up and vacated the belt to challenge for the interim heavyweight title at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14, President Trump’s 80th birthday.
Earlier, Trump’s Truth social account posted an advertisement for the event on his way to the arena.
Trump entered the Caseya Center accompanied by UFC President Dana White and several members of the Trump family.
As Kid Rock music played over the speakers, President Trump walked to his seat where Secretary of State Marco Rubio was waiting. Sergio Gol, the US ambassador to India, was also nearby.

Earlier, Paulo Costa came back in the third round to end Azamat Murzakhanov’s unbeaten run. Costa (16-4) has fought primarily at middleweight, winning his last two bouts. Murzakhanov (16-1) had won five of his first seven fights in the UFC by KO/TKO dating back to 2022.
In the co-main event, Azamat Murzakhanov (17-0-0) dropped Paulo Costa (15-5-0) with a roundhouse right to the head, ending the bout at 1:23 after three rounds.
After his victory, Murzakhanov climbed onto the Octagon apron to shake Trump’s hand, and the president praised him. Murzakhanov acknowledged Trump in his postgame interview with Logan.
Josh Hokit (9-0-0) and Curtis Blaydes (19-6-0) pummeled each other in that night’s slugfest, and President Trump watched in excitement as fans chanted “Awesome!” Meanwhile, the combatants shed blood on each other’s faces. Hokit won by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Lewis vs. Hokit added to White House fight card
White revealed on social media after Hokitt’s win that a matchup between Hokitt and Derrick Lewis has been added to UFC Freedom 250. According to White’s video, Trump asked why Lewis wasn’t on the White House card.
The UFC chief said he called Lewis and offered him the fight, and the fight came together when Rogan jokingly asked him on the air if there was room for Hokit on the card.
“President Trump built half of that fight, and Logan built the other half,” White said in the video. “Both sides agreed and accepted the match.”
