Michael B. Jordan’s Best Actor Oscar speech is just perfect
There was a sinful reason why Hailee Steinfeld missed out on the 2026 Oscars.
After all, as co-star Michael B. Jordan pointed out in his Best Actor acceptance speech at the March 15 ceremony, the pregnant “The Sinners” actress is expecting her first child with husband Josh Allen and is due soon.
In fact, the 39-year-old thanked his castmates with a heartwarming shout-out: “Hailey is home,” adding, “She’s currently preparing to give birth.”
As for Michael, he arguably ended awards season on a high note, beating out Marty Supreme’s Timothée Chalamet, One Battle After Another’s Leonardo DiCaprio, Blue Moon’s Ethan Hawke, and The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura. In fact, the 39-year-old has previously spoken about the importance of being one of this year’s most prominent performers.
“I’ve looked up to and watched other actors in the Academy and in movies and filmmakers that I’ve looked up to and been inspired by throughout my life,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “Having conversations like that and being around friends like that makes you feel strong.”
