Colin Jost reacts to Zoe Saldaña replacing Scarlett Johansson as highest-grossing actress
Colin Jost is setting the record straight about his and Scarlett Johansson’s marriage story.
Colin defended his position in their relationship after the comedian’s Saturday Night Live co-star Michael Che threw a punch at the couple during a sketch comedy show on March 14.
“The winner of the annual wife-carrying contest in England was a couple from Finland,” Michael, 42, said in the episode’s “Weekend Update” segment. “Meanwhile, once again Scarlett is the winner of the husband-carrying contest.”
Holding back a laugh, Colin waited for the audience to calm down before joking: “We both put food on the table. It’s different types of food.”
Michael’s playful jab comes just weeks after Colin, 43, reacted to his wife being dethroned as the highest-grossing actor of all time by Zoe Saldaña.
“Zoe Saldaña, who stars in the new ‘Avatar,’ has surpassed Scarlett Johansson as the highest-grossing actress of all time,” he said on the Jan. 17 episode of SNL as a bar graph showing actresses’ earnings appeared on screen. “Now let’s see what happens if we include the box office receipts of Scarlett’s husband’s films.”
