Fans are looking forward to more mornings with Gayle King.
After all, the longtime CBS Mornings anchor confirmed he will remain on the talk show despite his contract expiring in May.
“The rumors surrounding my death were inaccurate and greatly exaggerated,” she said in a statement to E! News March 4, Mentioning Mark Twain’s Famous Quote. “CBS News has been my longtime home and I am fully committed to its mission. I am excited to continue at CBS Mornings. As always, I am open and ready for new adventures here.”
She concluded: “It took me a minute, but I got there. And now I’m here and I’m giving it my all.”
The news comes months after CBS denied rumors that Gale would leave the news show he co-hosts with Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson and take a new role within the company this year.
“We have not had any discussions with Gail regarding her contract through May 2026,” a CBS News spokesperson said in a statement shared with People on Oct. 30. “She is a true asset to CBS and we look forward to engaging with her regarding the future.”
