figma has partnered with Anthropic to launch a feature called “Code to Canvas” that turns code generated by artificial intelligence tools like Claude Code into fully editable designs within Figma.
This feature creates a bridge between AI coding tools and Figma’s processes, encouraging the AI agent to bring it directly into the Figma canvas, making it available to users who have built work interfaces.
There, the team can refine it, compare options side-by-side, and make adjustments on design decisions.
This move reflects a broader view that agent coding tools like Claude Code have not eliminated the need for design, but have made it even more necessary. But the risk is that Figma is building better on-ramps to freeways that it no longer manages.
