Queen B is getting her own Gossip Girl book.
According to Deadline, Cecily von Ziegeser, author of a series of YA novels that have been adapted into not one but two TV shows, is writing a standalone sequel centered around fan-favorite character Blair Waldorf.
The book, titled Blair, follows a Constance Billard Girls’ School graduate as she navigates her life 20 years after her successful stint at the private school.
The novel is tentatively scheduled for publication in summer 2027.
However, Blair in the original story is somewhat different from the New York City socialite played by Leighton Meester in the original Gossip Girl, which aired for six seasons from 2007 to 2012. Although Layton’s character ultimately co-stars with Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) on screen, Blair in the original story is primarily romantically involved with Nate Archibald, made famous by Chace Crawford.
So will Leighton ever reprise his TV role?
“They’re doing something completely new,” she told Fox 5 New York in 2022, after the original Gossip Girl was rebooted with an all-new cast. “I feel really good about settling down and letting the kids, the younger new generation, take care of it.”
Still, the 39-year-old said: “Never say never.”
