2026 Grammy Awards: How Addison Rae, Alex Warren and more earned Best New Artist nominations
A baby’s first Grammy Awards is always worth looking back on.
The music industry’s biggest stars look like professionals on the Grammy Awards red carpet, but they have a common experience: attending music’s biggest night for the first time.
Take Taylor Swift, for example. In 2008, before the “Cruel Summer” singer won 14 Grammy Awards, she attended her first Grammy Awards red carpet wearing a purple mermaid-style dress. She was nominated for Best New Artist at the time, but won for the first time in 2010, winning both Album of the Year and Best Country Album for “Fearless.”
And Beyoncé, the most decorated artist in Grammy history, once had a breakthrough debut. In fact, the “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker, along with his Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, showed up at the 2001 Grammys without winning 35 awards. The girl group, all dressed in green cut-out outfits, won Record of the Year and Best R&B Performance for “Say My Name.”
She was 19 years old at the time and couldn’t believe she would be honored for her accomplishment.
