Ella Mai shares rare insights about life with Jayson Tatum’s ‘Musical Baby’
Ella Mai has deep feelings about her and Jayson Tatum’s young son.
In fact, the “Boo’d Up” singer is expecting her first child with the Boston Celtics player in 2024, although his name has not been made public, and she revealed how excited she is for her child to follow in her musical footsteps.
“I try not to overdo it because I don’t want him to grow up and be like, ‘She just shoved her music down my throat,'” she exclusively told E! News’ Will Malfuzzi performs music for young children at the MusiCares 2026 Person of the Year Gala on January 30th. “But I try to play a lot of music around him.”
She added: “He was watching the movie ‘Sing’ today and it’s his new obsession. So I’m glad he likes it because I was like, ‘Oh, you’re such a musical baby.'”
And while it remains to be seen whether her baby will inherit mom’s voice, 31-year-old Ella said she is well into the talking stage, even if she is only babbling now.
In her words, he “talks mostly gibberish, but he thinks it makes sense.”
