Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is facing a frightening health journey.
The Jersey Shore alum said that after years of abnormal Pap smear results and close monitoring by doctors, further testing with a colposcopy and biopsy revealed that she had cancerous cells in her cervix.
“The results are back,” she said in a Jan. 21 TikTok video detailing her experience. “My doctor called me and said, ‘You don’t look good.’ He found cancer cells in the upper part of my cervix.”
Ms Polizzi, who will need an additional cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing, said she was “scared” but focused on getting answers.
“It’s scary, but cervical cancer is no joke and we have to do something about it,” she said.
One of the reasons Polizzi decided to share her journey so far is because she was initially “waiting” to make plans due to stress.
“So, what this video is basically about, guys, keep your word, because we’re talking about the future. If this biopsy were to come back now, which wouldn’t be great, the next step would be a hysterectomy,” the 38-year-old said.
