When Tom won his first Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in 2004, he was in a new relationship with Bridget Moynahan.
And when the Blue Bloods star and athlete posed for photos at glitzy events like the Met Gala and Oscar parties, they looked like the picture-perfect couple.
“I can be myself around her, and not many people can be themselves,” Tom said in a 2005 interview with 60 Minutes. “I enjoy being with my best friend who knows me so well. I consider her one of my best friends.”
Shortly thereafter, Tom met Gisele Bündchen. Then, at the beginning of their relationship, Bridget learned that she was pregnant with his child, causing a media uproar.
“A car was following me and the men were hiding in the bushes outside my house,” she recalled to People in 2019. “As a new mother, you just want to protect your child. That kind of attention felt like a threat.”
