For Gabriel Brown, it was too late for his father, Kody Brown, to say, “I’m sorry.” Initially at odds over Kody’s strict coronavirus restrictions, the pair continued to keep their distance even as stay-at-home orders began to be lifted.
Janelle Brown, who shares sons Logan Brown, Hunter Brown, Garrison Brown, and Gabrielle with the matriarch, and daughters Madison Brush and Savannah Brown, said Kody’s problem was that he felt his children weren’t loyal to him and his rules.
“He kept saying it like I owed him an apology,” Gabrielle detailed to Janelle on an October 2024 episode of Sister Wives. “Eventually I was like, ‘Hey, unless you’re ready to actually have a relationship and work things out, then we’re not going to talk anymore.'” A few days later he came back and texted me. He said, “Hey, I’ve been thinking about what you said.” I forgive you, please forgive me. ” I was like, “What are you going to forgive me for?” ”
He is still confused about what he did because he was very close to his father and even traveled with him on business trips. But he told Janelle, “I told my dad that if he doesn’t change, if he doesn’t take responsibility, I’ll never see him again. And I’m totally fine with that.”
