Still, she “barely” ate from ages 15 to 19.
Winslet said: “The real regrets I have in life are long-term, like not eating properly, or eating something and panicking, and the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning is, ‘Oh my god, do I look fatter, do I look fatter?'” It lasted a really long time. ”
And while she was dealing with bullies at school who called her “blubbers” — Winslet says, “You were terrible to me and you should be ashamed of yourself” — they only pushed her towards success.
“To be honest, I learned pretty early on that I have pretty thick skin,” Winslet said. “But at the time it happened, I just threw myself into my own theater group and creative world outside of school, and the mean people at school became as insignificant as I could.”
That’s because, as the director of “Goodbye June” sees it, “I can’t let them ruin the trajectory I’ve decided to take.”
