The 25-year-old also sent a sweet shout-out to Adam’s five-year-old son, whom he adopted from a previous relationship, saying: “I promise I’ll always be with you and George. I’m so grateful to be in his life and can’t wait for more.”
At that time, Adam also shared his feelings about their future.
“I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife,” he shared about the engagement in a post on his social media. “I am the luckiest man on earth to have such a kind, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart and give peace to my soul.”
The 30-year-old, who won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, continued: “You were with me when I was at my lowest, helping me understand myself and overcome my darkness. You also celebrated so many highs. For the first time in my life, I am happy with the person I am.”
In fact, not only is Adam overjoyed with his marriage, but he’s also excited about his new loved ones.
“Your family has always been so generous to me with their time, emotion and trust,” Adam added. “I can’t wait to join them too. I’ve always believed that when two people get engaged and then get married, we’re no longer two people, but one, and it’s my greatest honor to share that with you.”
