Amy Schumer is looking to the humorous side.
During her separation from estranged husband Chris Fischer, Amy, who has 6-year-old son Gene, gave insight into how her family traditionally overcomes hardships.
“When things are at their worst, that’s when families are at their most interesting,” she said in a Dec. 21 video shared to Instagram. “When you hit rock bottom, that’s when you laugh the most.”
“I think it’s not just about me, it’s kind of a Jewish trait,” she added in a video honoring the last night of Hanukkah.
And in another post, Amy hinted at another way to overcome hardship: relying on community.
“My life is filled with the souls of the women I love,” Amy posted on her Instagram Story on December 21st, in a message written by author Hannah Rosenberg. “Someone who shows up on my doorstep to celebrate or grieve with, someone who stands up when I get myself down.”
The post continued, “If you have any of these women, remember: Soulmates are a great idea, but look at how beautiful these love stories are. Look at how much they fill you.”
