However, Miley’s path to living happily ever after with Max was not a perfect path. In fact, the “Angels Like You” singer admitted that she had to make a few mistakes to get it right. Earlier this year, she reflected on her previous marriage to the Hunger Games alum, saying she was trying to change parts of herself to make it last.
“I was like, ‘I’m safe, I’m clean, I’m wearing white clothes, and I’m singing songs about nature,'” Miley said during an appearance on the Every Single Album podcast in June, referring to her Younger Now days, when she said she was “just trying to find a persona that would keep my personal life intact.”
But ultimately, Miley had to tune out the noise, even ignoring the advice of her own mother, Tish Cyrus, when it came to what to do with her love life.
“Ultimately, I found someone who meant a lot to me and treated me well and respected me,” she explained in an interview with her mother and sisters Noah Cyrus and Brandi Cyrus on The Cut in September. “I had to learn it the hard way because my mother taught me the wrong way. Then I had to learn the right way myself.”
Of course, it was worth the climb. Because the scenery is amazing. As Miley says, “My men are super hot too.”
