Lizzo just wanted to feel better from head to toe.
“Since I started working out for my mental health and my endorphin balance, I no longer look at myself in the mirror and feel ashamed or disgusted with myself,” the “Good as Hell” singer explained in a May 2023 TikTok. “Exercise helped me change my mind, not my body,” he explained.
She admitted in a January 2025 TikTok that she was on an “intentional weight loss journey” and that her goal was simply to become the best version of herself.
“Even when my weight loss journey is over, I will never look skinny,” Lizzo said. “I’ll still be considered morbidly obese on the BMI and my little internet friends will still call me ‘big back,’ but I’ll be happy.”
A second later, Lizzo jumped into the video exclaiming, “And I’m happy,” while showing a screen showing that she had lost 16% of her body fat and 10.5 points on her body mass index (BMI).
“Let this be a reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to,” she added. “I think it’s now time to set new goals.”
