Nicole Richie seems to be reacting to Hilary Duff’s new song amid Joel Madden rumors
Nicole Richie has opened up about how she feels about her friend’s music.
The Simple Life alum shared a message of support for Hilary Duff’s new song ‘Mature’ amid speculation that the lyrics are about her husband Joel Madden, with whom she dated from 2004 to 2006.
In a photo shared to her Instagram Story on Nov. 11, Nicole and Hilary (both dressed in all black) lie outside on the grass, holding hands and laughing hysterically. Tagging the ‘So Yesterday’ singer in the snap, an outspoken Nicole Starr wrote: “‘Mature’ is not a word to describe us but this song is BOP anyway.”
Before Nicole’s sweet response, there were rumors that “Mature” was partially inspired by Hilary’s past relationship with Joel, who has a nine-year age difference.
“She could be your daughter / Like me before I was smart,” Hilary, who was 19 when she parted ways with the Good Charlotte musician (then 28), sings in the chorus. “I was happy to hear your words/You are very mature for your age.”
